| I am hosting a "Cold Steel Alpha" reunion at my home in Coralville, Iowa this year over the Labor Day week-end, August 29 - September 1, 2008. In attendance will be Col. Robert "Cold Steel" Powell (Ret.) and then Lt. Tom Dasenbrock (Raider 6). As it turns out, Labor Day weekend is the home-opener for the University of Iowa Hawkeye football team. So, I suggest making hotel reservations as soon as possible. There are about half a dozen hotels on First Avenue in Coralville ranging from good to classy. The Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn and Marriot are all at the I-80 off ramps and less than 1 mile from my house. Many of our troopers have already made reservations at the Holiday Inn on 1st Avenue. All hotels listed above are less than 1 mile from the exit ramp. I live 5 blocks north of the exit. If you Google map the hotels and my house (468 Sierra Trail, Coralville, Iowa 52241), you will see how close together they all are.
